1. Where are you located?
The Somerton Municipal and Justice Courts are located at 350 W. Main Street/ Hwy 95 in Somerton, Arizona. It is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Main Street and Union Ave.

2. What hours are the Courts open? When can I see a judge in person?
The Courts are open Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on Fridays, our doors are locked at 4:45 p.m.) For most traffic tickets, people are scheduled for "Open Court" at 10:00a.m. Monday through Friday at which time you may speak with the judge. Whenever the courts are open, there are also court clerks who may be able to answer questions or provide information, but remember, clerks are not allowed to give legal advice, only information.

3. I have heard of the Somerton Municipal Court and the Somerton Justice Court. How many courts does Somerton have?
There are TWO different courts in Somerton, the Municipal Court and the Justice Court. Both courts are located in the same office building at 350 W. Main Street in Somerton, Arizona.

The presiding judge of the Somerton Municipal Court and the Somerton Justice Court is the Honorable Manuel "Manny" Figueroa. As the Municipal Court Judge, Judge Figueroa handles cases that include criminal misdemeanors, traffic citations, city code violations, and orders of protection and injunctions prohibiting harassment.

As the Presiding Justice of the Peace at the Somerton Justice Court Judge Figueroa handles civil and contract disputes, small claims court, marriage licenses, orders of protection and injunctions prohibiting harassment, landlord/tenant matters, and both Felony and Misdemeanor criminal charges.

ANYTIME YOU ARE CITED INTO COURT, IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ THE ADDRESS CORRECTLY AS TO WHERE YOU MUST APPEAR. IF YOU GO TO, OR CALL INTO, THE WRONG COURT, AND MISS YOUR COURT DATE, YOU RISK BEING ARRESTED!

4. What are the phone numbers?
The phone number to the Somerton Municipal Court is 928-627-8152. The phone number to the Somerton Justice Court is 928-627-2722. The fax number to both courts is 928-627-1076

5. How do I change or extend my court date?
Continuances to extend your court initial appearance date may be filed with the court. Extensions must be requested in writing prior to the court date. Extensions are ONLY granted of GOOD CAUSE. DO NOT assume you were granted an extension merely because you have made a request. If you have not received a new court date, you must appear on the date and time you were originally scheduled.

6. How can I find out how many points I have on my driving record?
You will need to go to any Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle, Drivers License offices and request a print out of your driving record. There is a fee for this request. You can call MVD at 602-255-0072.
